The journal

The Annals of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati

 Fascicle IX. Metallurgy and Materials Science

                                 has a bi-annual issue, is specialized in the domain of metallurgy and materials science, as well as in connected domains: chemical, mechanical, energetic.

In this journal scientific papers are published, they are edited by teaching staff from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Material Science, by researchers and specialized teaching staff from Romania and abroad, the main purpose is the dissemination the results of the latest researches and the exchange of information among the specialist in this domain.

In this journal scientific papers were published as a result of collaboration between specialists from our faculty and foreign specialists: Moldavia, Germany, Ukraine, France, China, Italy, United States of America and Portugal.

 The domains covered by the journal are the following

•   elaboration and casting of the metallic alloys (steels, irons, non-ferrous);

•   plastic deformations and thermal treatments;

•   equipments and aggregates;

•   control and optimizing of the process;

•   technologies and special materials;

•   engineering and management of resources and environment;

•   surfaces engineering;

•   technologies of superior capitalization coals and combustibles;

•   nanotechnologies and nanomaterials.

The journal has a rhythmical publication since 1983 having, already a tradition; under the conditions of a extension at an international level, starting with 2003 two issues a year were published.

            In order to have a very good international visibility, the papers are written in English the contents being printed in English and Romanian.

            The qualitative level of the journal is permanently improved through raising the visibility degree, the way of selecting the papers there editing conditions, respecting the elaboration-editing stated date of the papers and publication of the journal.

            The journal is affiliated to important society and associations:

Romanian Society for Metallurgy, Romanian Society for Biomaterials, Romanian Technical Foundry Society, Thermal Treatment and Surface Engineering Society, Romanian General Engineering Society, Romanian Society for Chemistry, The American Society for Metals (ASM International).

The journal is included in international exchanges with famous universities from different countries receiving journals and other documentary materials from the institutions with which we have relationships of collaboration.

            The scientific referee committee is consist a competent teaching staff in the domains covered by the journal from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Material Science of the “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, from other universities in Romania and abroad.
